A year on from publication

It’s been ages since I wrote an update here. September in fact and I can’t believe I’ve neglected it for so long! After the amazing events I took part in at Bloody Scotland, I had more festivals including the wonderful Iceland and Newcastle Noir events, bookshop signings and chats and book groups.

Crow Moon was shortlisted for no less than three awards last year, which was incredible. A good friend who’s had many books published, reminded me recently that many brilliant books never make the shortlists, which was a timely note to self of how incredibly lucky I’ve been with my debut.
Since the start of 2025, I’ve also had a week editing at the magical Moniack Mhor, taken part in Manchester Libraries Crime Central, Noir at the Bar at Bay Tales in Whitley Bay, Helensburgh Book Festival, a lovely community based event on the banks of the River Clyde, and this coming week I’m at Daydreams Bookshop, a brand new Indy in Glasgow.
Festivals are also lining up for autumn already in Balfron and Blairgowrie and I’m currently slowly working through a big edit on the next Martha book which may or may not be out this year! Debut year was brilliant and so many people to thank for helping me on this amazing writing journey. Readers, writers, bloggers, booksellers, bookworms or all kinds. THANK YOU ALL!!!
